The William Humphreys Art Gallery (WHAG) invites applications for service providers as advertised.

R86 637 per annum. (2-year contract)  
WHAG will be responsible for flights and accommodation during the time of the respective meetings should the candidate not be from the Northern Cape province – or should the required meeting not be in Kimberley
Commencement date: January 2020 – January 2022 (this will be a two-year contract) 

The William Humphreys Art Gallery (WHAG), provides for the aesthetic and cultural needs of the local community it serves as well as to the people of South Africa, the African continent and the diaspora. To this end it collects, preserves, documents, researches and exhibits works of art which represent the artistic heritage of all South Africans and utilises its assets for the improvement, enrichment, and enjoyment of the people. This it does by pursuing the highest standards of excellence and without regard to race, class, creed or gender. 
WHAG Council/ Board is established in terms of the Cultural Institutions Act, No. 119 of 1998. In terms of the Act, Council is appointed by the Minister of Arts & Culture. The Director is part of Council and the Chief Financial Officer is an invitee. 
• Grade 12 and secretarial qualification 
• At least 5 years of experience taking minutes at Board level 
• Good planning and organisational skills 
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) 
• Computer and IT literacy including proficiency in MS Office suite 
Or a company with suitable experience.

Specific Responsibilities 
a) To support the Chairperson in ensuring smooth functioning of meetings 
(The service provider is expected to play the role of Council Secretariat) 
b) Preparation of Council Meeting agenda in consultation with the Chairperson of WHAG 
c) Attend all Council and Committee Meetings and other meetings that Council will attend outside the prescribed meetings. 
d) Draft, finalise the minutes and matters arising from the meetings 
e) Maintain a record of all Council and Committee Meeting Minutes 
f) Be responsible for the chronological filing of the minutes 
g) Provide WHAG with a record of original minutes of the Council and Subcommittee meetings.

Number of meetings 
6 scheduled meetings per year (but not limited to)  
The overall venue of the meetings might be in Kimberley (but not limited to)
